Camp Phoenix

Phoenix Canoe Club’s summer holiday programme for 9-16 year olds will be running from Monday 20th August to Friday 31st August 2012.

Camp Phoenix provides a great escape into the outdoors with a range of fantastic paddle sport activities. It’s a great opportunity to try out some cool new activities, meet new friends and build up your confidence with some exciting challenges. Choose from half day, day or up to 5 day sessions.

The sessions are based in kayaks, but will also include canoeing, bell boating, sit-on tops, stand-up paddle boards, plus canoe polo, games, races, treasure hunts and short journeys. It is also to include the BCU One Star award (minimum 1.5 days) at extra cost. This will allow you to take out membership of the Phoenix Canoe Club and join in their regular activities throughout the year.

The summer ‘day camps’ are run by an experienced team of British Canoe Union coaches at our base on the Welsh Harp reservoir. All of our coaches are fully qualified for the activities; enhanced CRB checked and regularly work with young people. We have a modern fleet of boats and safety equipment. All participants must be able to swim 25m and will be provided with buoyancy aids to wear on the water at all times. All activities on water are lead and supervised by coaches at a maximum ratio of 1:8 students. One of our team will supervise any land activities and session breaks.
