The BCU Canoe Polo Committee is hoping to get a Local League up and running for the South East Area. Their target is to develop Canoe Polo and get more teams involved and participating.

The initial idea is to run a Youth League as well as an Open League for players that are playing at National League Division 4 or below. The season will run indoors initially from September to April 2014 and will be hosted by many of the teams.

All clubs are welcome to join and a meeting has been arranged for Monday 29th April 2013 for all interested clubs to get together and discuss the format of the new League.

At the moment the following clubs have shown interest:

  • VKC
  • Meridian
  • St Albans
  • Nomad
  • University of Hertfordshire
  • Dereham Canoe Group
  • Laburnum Boat Club
  • The Pirate Castle
  • Blackwater
  • Letchworth
  • Nomad
  • HYM COPS
  • ULU
  • Huntingdon Canoe Club
  • Norwich Canoe Club
  • Cambridge UNI
  • Ipswich Canoe Polo Club

There may also be an opportunity to have coaching sessions over the summer period outdoors.

If you are interested in coming along to the meeting or to participate in Regional League contact Jane Borrett of the BCU Canoe Polo Committee on treasurer@canoepolo.org.uk and let her know your name, club, contact email, contact mobile and if you are interested in the Youth or Open league.
