Harlow Outdoors are running a Level 2 training course for canoe and kayak coaches over the weekends of 24th/25th August and 31st Aug & 1st Sept. Cost: £250 per person. This will be a boat based course.
It’s a great way to improve your coaching skills – many of which can also be used in everyday life and work. The course will also make you think about the way that you, and others, paddle – so it’s a good way to brush up on your own canoe and kayak skills.
The aim of the British Canoe Union (UKCC) Level 2 Training Programme is to provide you with the tools to plan and deliver a series of progressive paddle sport coaching sessions.
The Level 2 course covers:
- An introduction to Level 2 Paddle sport Coaching
- An introduction to safe and ethical coaching
- Designing and delivering Paddle sport coaching sessions
- Evaluating and reviewing Paddle sport coaching sessions
- Time to practise coaching
- Governing Body Registration
- Assessment Act
Prerequisites:
- Coach Level 1
- 2 Star multi discipline (Boat-based Coach)
- A BCU 3 Star Certificate in either single blade discipline or double blade discipline
- 17 years of age
