London SUP marathon 2014 on Thames

The SUP marathon is back!

Last year 25 participants raised over £30,000 for charity, in the first ever London SUP Marathon.

This is a marathon with a difference – where participants cover a marathon distance – 26 miles – on Stand-Up Paddleboards while taking in the sights of the Thames, from Shepperton to Putney, followed by an evening’s celebratory party the same night.

This fun, challenging event will take place on the Thames on Saturday 14th June 2014.

If you would like to get involved on Saturday 14th June 2014, contact Olivia at olivia@40tude.org.uk for all the finer details and an application form. Places are limited, so it is recommended that you register your interest as early as possible. The SUP experts from Active360 will also be looking for a team of experienced marshals to look after less experienced paddlers and make sure everything runs to plan.

The inaugural London SUP Marathon took place, successfully, on Saturday 22 June 2013. This was the first event of its kind; a long distance (approximately 26 mile) mass paddle on the Thames from Shepperton to Putney. The course combined tidal and non-tidal sections of the river passing through three locks and under 14 bridges and taking in picturesque sights such as Hampton Court, Syon House, Kew Gardens, Ham House and Richmond Hill.
