Sea Kayak Symposium May 2013

Howard Jeffs, a Level 5 Sea Coach, will be bringing his expertise to the Seapoint Sea Kayak Symposium.

Seapoint Canoe Centre will be hosting a weekend of sea kayaking instruction in May 2013, led by coaches Howard Jeffs, Rob Davis and Nick Cunliffe.

The symposium, based in Folkestone, Kent, takes place over the weekend of 18/19th May, with sessions including:

  • Boat handling skills – flat water fundamentals 
  • Boat handling skills – rough water essentials 
  • Rescue & Self Rescues – wet 
  • Rolling Clinic – wet 
  • Efficient Endurance Forward Paddling 
  • Traditional Sea Kayak Design & Building 
  • Journey – approx 20km to include leadership skills.

A minimum of 4 participants per course are required for the event to take place. Cost is just £90 for the weekend – with a free BBQ and T-shirt. Camping is available close to the centre.

For those with extra time on their hands, Seapoint Canoe Centre will also be running additional training from Monday 20th to Friday 24th May.

  • 4 star training
