Maia discusses paddle technique with one of our Olympian paddlers.

Dylan and Maia are two London youngsters with a mission – they aim to kayak across the English Channel in February. Maia is just 13 and will be the youngest girl ever to do this.

Both Dylan and Maia are regular participants at Leaside, which provides fun outdoor education activities to disadvantaged and disabled young people in East London.

Dylan and Maia are undertaking this challenging paddle to buy equipment for Leaside – as they say, “We love Leaside. Lots of us go there to have fun and get good at outdoor sports.”

If you would like to support their endeavours, please sponsor them on their Just Giving page at justgiving.com/channelcrossing13.

Leaside is a registered charity which delivers free training and qualifications, encouraging young people to develop their leadership skills and ambition and become positive role models in the community.
