The Wild Coast Paddle should provide a spectacular chance to see coastal birds and wildlife from your kayak. The Wallasea Island Wild Coast project is one of Europe’s largest, ongoing conservation projects – with sea kayaks and touring kayaks providing one of the finest ways to explore this remote, wetland landscape.
The paddle will kick off at 10am with a briefing and registration at Burnham Sailing Club, where food and drink will be available. The route is approximately 8 miles long, circumnavigating Wallersea Island.
A route map will be provided to participants. Paddlers will be invited for a celebratory drink in the Royal Burnham Yacht Club after the trip.
All paddlers must provide their own boat – ideally a sea kayak or a touring kayak of at least 12 feet length – as well as paddles, buoyancy aids.
