Kayaking is well represented at the Banff Mountain Film Festival Tour this year, with two ‘red and blue’ line-ups of adventure films.
The Tour hits London in March 2020 and is touring across the UK between January and May 2020.
The Banff Red Programme
The Banff Red Programme includes two films featuring kickass female adventurers. Both Sarah Outen and Nouria Newman take on high risk expeditions, facing extreme odds.
Sarah Outen’s Home appears in a special cut for this year’s Banff Mountain Film Festival. The film tells the story of Sarah’s mission to traverse the globe by bike, sea kayak & rowing boat. Home premiered in London last year, before touring the UK. If you missed Home then, now’s your chance to catch up with this inspiring and at times, scary film.
Appearing on the same Red bill, Nouria Newman’s solo whitewater kayaking expedition in northern Indian, The Ladakh Project, will have you on the edge of your seat. It’s only fifteen minutes long, but this short film sure packs the excitement in. The film is available online if you search, but this one’s worth experiencing on the big screen, as part of the Banff Mountain Film Festival package.
The Banff Red Programme
The Blue Programme, playing on different nights, features further kayaking adventure with ‘The Long River Home’. In this film, three friends come together to guide blind Navy veteran Lonnie Bedwell on a 14-day kayaking trip through the Grand Canyon, whitewater rapids and all.
