GB Freestyle Kayak are providing a day of freestyle competition at the Lee Valley White Water Centre on 30th June, with exclusive use of the Legacy white water course. The competition is open to all, you don’t need previous experience to take part.
The competition will use one white water feature for Novice to Youth Freestyle. Open and Expert competitors will use another feature on the course, all liable to International Canoe Federation Rules.
The closing date for entries is 24th June, or when the maximum number of entries is reached.
Each event group will have a heat of 20 minutes on a feature. These heats will be interspersed with heats of the downriver race. Competitors must use the same boat for both events.
Heats run from 9am to midday, with a super-final for Freestyle and River Race between 3pm and 4pm. You do not have to have a Lee Valley user card to enter, but entrants wishing to do their Lee Valley assessment can do so during the break for half price, just £5.
British Canoe Union (BCU) membership is compulsory for insurance purposes. If you are not a member you can pay £5 for BCU day membership. A returnable bib deposit will also be needed on the day.
Entrance to the competition costs £15 per category. If you are entering more than one category, such as Canoe and Open Canoe, you will need to pay twice. More information and entrance forms are available at the GB Freestyle Kayaking website or via their Facebook page
