Dave Wortley and Rob Harris will be relating their Adventures in The Grand Canyon at Allenburys on Tuesday 2nd October 2012 at 8pm, accompanied by film and photographs.
After six years of applying Rob Harris finally got his chance to paddle the Colorado River in Arizona. He invited a group of experienced kayakers to undertake the 280 miles as a self-supported trip, taking everything they would need with them for their 18 day adventure.
Rob and Dave will describe how they organised the trip, what it was like to spend 18 days disconnected from the outside world and what it was like to suddenly pop back into reality with a bang in Las Vegas.
All are welcome. Please do your best to support – this talk is open to the general public.
The talk starts at 8pm sharp, but the doors and bar will be open from 5pm if you would like to have a drink etc beforehand.
Entry fee £3 (£2 for under 16s and over 65s)
Allenburys is the GSK Sports and Social Club, Harris’s Lane, Ware, Herts, SG12 0DJ, just 15min from the Lee Valley White Water Centre.
